Ana Atanasiu

With more than 13 years of experience in the legal field and holding a PhD in Commercial Law, Ana is specialized in a wide range of litigation, including with respect to shareholder protection against abuse of minority/majority rights and in boardroom risks and liabilities. Ana also advises in alternative dispute resolution procedures as arbitrator or mediator and assists clients on corporate and regulatory matters. Ana is often appointed as law expert in various working groups amending corporate and capital market laws and regulations (organized by the Financial Supervisory Authority; Ministry of Justice; Ministry of Finance etc.).

Representative work:

●Assisting one of the largest investment funds in the world related to the protection of its investment in Romania against a vexatious litigator.

●Assisting a Romanian shopping mall developer to defend against abuse of minority shareholders.

●Assisting Cyprus and Greek banks in NPL acquisitions (analysis focused mainly on insolvency, enforcement and consumer protection issues).

●Assisting various top Romanian companies on corporate restructuring solutions in view of becoming public companies and/or improving their corporate governance.

●Assiting a top Romanian bank in its acquisition of the Romanian branch of an Austrian bank.

●Assisting the main Romanian capital market operator in its merger with the Sibiu market operator, thus leading to the consolidation of a single market operator in Romania.
